Thursday Favourites: March 19th

Hey y’all!

So, I’m finally back of my hiatus and ready to get back into a regular posting schedule! In fact, I’m SO ready that you guys won’t just be getting one, but TWO posts this weekend! I’ve been social distancing since Monday, and while I was already starting to feel better about getting back into writing, being cooped up in my apartment has caused me to start to feel a little stir-crazy. If you’re like me, and you’re already starting to feel pretty off with all this alone time inside (or even feel that your mental health is suffering from it) — I’m going to be sharing a post this Saturday with my fifteen best tips for getting through social distancing! Both the boredom and lack of social contact can really throw off your life and schedule, so I’m hoping by sharing these tips I’ll help everyone stay on track throughout these confusing and unprecedented times.

Stay tuned this Sunday as well, as I’m going to be sharing my absolute favourite post of the season — my FabFitFun unboxing! As you guys may remember, I shared in an earlier post that I’ve become a FabFitFun Affiliate (lowkey a dream for me, not gonna lie) and this is going to be my first unboxing post since I’ve shared the news! If you’re curious about what to expect, you can always check out my past Fall and Winter unboxings! I’ve already tested out most of the products in my box and I’m totally in love — I can’t wait to share with you all everything I received and my thoughts on this box!

But for now, back to today’s content — I’m back with a new favourite product of the week! Both in the interests of self-love and gearing up for spring, I’ve made a couple of purchases that I’ve been dying for months to try out. So far, I’ve absolutely adored all of them and I can’t believe it took me so long to give them all a shot. As some of you remember, I listed Charlotte Tilbury as one of the brands I was most excited to try in 2020. I’ve always adored Charlotte’s simple and classy aesthetic — it’s definitely a little more minimal than today’s current makeup looks, but I personally have always loved the truly classic look she presents and I think it makes a perfect everyday look.

As I’ve never gotten the chance to try Charlotte’s products, I thought her Instant Eyeshadow Palette from her Pillow talk collection was the perfect place to start. I just loved how it offers four complete looks in one palette, plus all the shades are classic and perfect for everyday use. I’ve heard a couple reviews that said the palette range was a little repetitive compared to others offered by the line, but not only did I personally find it to be great for a beginner to Charlotte’s line, but also totally unique from other palettes I’ve seen by other brands.

While I’m still dying to try many of her other products (helloooooo, eyeshadow quads, blushes and her iconic Pillowtalk lipstick), I’m absolutely over the moon I finally got my hands on this palette. However, I’ve only been getting more excited to try out more of her products, since this palette has totally exceeded all my expectations. First of all, I think the colours just speak for themselves — they’re absolutely gorgeous. This palette comes with four intended looks (which of course, you can mix and match as you please). These looks include a shimmery rose gold “day” look, a peachy matte “desk” look, a smoky nude “date” look, and a shimmery pinky-plum “dream” look. I was initially sold on the dream look, as I’ve never seen anything like it. However, the other looks create such fantastic looks for every day use that I know I’m going to be using these shadows all the time.

However, there’s two things I love most about this palette — specifically, the shimmer shades and the quality of the shadows. First of all, these shimmer shades are unlike any other eyeshadows I’ve tried from any other brand. I don’t know what it is — maybe it’s that the glitter is so fine, but it actually almost appears as if these eyeshadows glow from within. They really redefine what “shimmer” eyeshadow is. They’re just so soft, delicate and classy — and I’m totally obsessed.

The final cherry on top is the absolutely incredible quality of these eyeshadows. I’m all about pigment, and these shadows definitely meet my standard. However, the thing that this palette has that other highly pigmented ones don’t is that these palettes literally generate no fallout. Not like a minimal amount — absolutely none. I can apply these eyeshadows after applying my face makeup without any worries of messing up all my hard work (which is fantastic as I personally prefer doing my face before my eyes). I don’t really know how this palette manages to be SO pigmented with no fallout — but needless to say, I’m impressed.

If this sounds like the classic everyday eyeshadow palette you’ve been looking for, you can check it out at Sephora here! (And act fast — it’s limited edition!).

As a final note, I just wanted to thank all of you for all being so patient with me and my hiatus over the last few weeks. It really means a lot as I’ve been coping with a lot over the last little while, and it’s lovely to know I can always take a step back and still have you guys waiting for me when I return. I wanted to give a special shoutout to my little blogging community who have taken the time to reach out to me and support me through this difficult time — and a special shoutout to V for being so helpful and kind.

Love you all so much!

Xo,

Meredith

One more pic in the sunlight just because!
